On Wednesday evening, the WCR hosted a wonderful event: a recital by clarinetist extraordinaire Dr. Neil Hoffman and brilliant collaborators in works by Schubert, Bach, Mendelssohn, and Weinberg for clarinet, bassett horn, voice, and piano. Along with the fine playing and exquisite music making, we were treated to some wonderful stories that brought us deeper into the pieces and into Neil's life long love affair with music. And, because he is such an important member of the community, everyone came. These photos don't capture the lovely ensemble playing or echo Neil's tales, but I trust that the smiles, handshakes, and hugs hint at the love and esteem we hold for him.
