NAACP attorney Natasha M. Korgaonkar presented the first annual Berks County Bar Association Lecture in Contemporary Legal Issues on Monday, April 28. The lecture, “Confronting Barriers to Voting Rights in the Wake of Shelby County, Ala.,” placed the disastrous Supreme Court decision in Shelby v. Holder in a broader historical, social, and legal context. Her talk was followed by a lively discussion of discrimination both national and local by members of the audience, which included students, faculty, and members of the Reading community.
