At a dinner following his EAV Keynote address, Dr. Patrice Rankine, of the University of Chicago, mentioned one of his favorite artists Romare Bearden, and super student Abby Platero replied that the Freedman Gallery had a significant group of his prints. By the next morning, she'd pulled the pieces and allowed Rankine and Bearden to spend some quality time together.
