On my own in Washington museums, I positioned the D300 on a chair or bench and clicked my infrared remote. I was headed to a talk by Jack Pierson at the National Portrait Gallery where several of his "self portraits" are included in the show HIDE/SEEK: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture. Turns out they're NOT of himself. In a sense I'd be suckered into producing these. My chagrin was assuaged by a delicious meal at Jaleo.
