I made a pilgrimage to the National Building Museum to see its Summer installation HIVE by the brilliant Chicago architect Jeanne Gang's Studio Gang. A series of immense domes created out of notched cardboard tubing, silvery on the outside, magenta on the inside. My brother David, always a fan of great architecture, used to work in the NBM. It's his birthday today, so the visit and these photos are for him.
