An Artist's lecture and Freedman opening welcomed Brian Glaze as our new colleague in the Art Department. Proficient in a remarkable range of media - stone, steel, wood, assemblage, video, electronics, sounds, and conceptual art - Brian's exhibition, IMPLEMENTS, was made up of found objects, modified and combined and often booby trapped with sensors, speakers, and projectors that added to the political and philosophical points.
In the project space, a mural celebrating 40 Years of the Freedman Gallery is underway. Designed by alumna Brandy O'Neill, it invites the collaboration of current students, many of whom were responding to the invitation during today's opening.
