Brian Turtle '95 returned to his Alma Mater and the place where he, Craig Fass, and Mike Ginelli created The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. He wittily traced the wild ride of TV appearances, the book, the game, and their surprisingly long afterlife as a metaphor for connectedness. He applauded Bacon's effort to use Six Degrees as a vehicle for the empowerment of grass roots charities. And he introduced a team of documentary film makers who are connecting the Bacon phenomenon with the network of collaborators surrounding the Hungarian mathematician Paul Erdős. The event drew reporters from WFMZ and The Eagle, but not so many students, and several of them were not sure who Kevin Bacon was. Sic transit gloria.
