As a set designer, Cocol Bernal is always an artist first. And if an effect can be created by economical and efficient means, she will instead pursue the most microscopic and laborious path. Such were the huge flowers that she and several devoted assistants created as the backdrop for the Domino Players' recent production Song and Story. These 'intelligent designs' are actually heirloom varieties, since they are fashioned from recycled Albright theatre, music, and gallery programs and posters. You'll have a chance in the near future to purchase one of these efflorescent works of art, with proceeds going to benefit Albright's CFA.
