A number of distinguished historians gathered at the McNeil Center for Early American Studies to celebrate the latest issue of Early American Studies - "Women and Religion in the Early Americas" - one dedicated to the intellectual and personal influence of Mary Maples Dunn, historian and Dean at Bryn Mawr, President of Smith College, and Dean of the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard. So many whose scholarship and careers have been shaped by her generous encouragement toasted Mary's memory with her favorite cocktail, the Manhattan, newly denominated for the occasion the Womanhattan.
